558 on trolleys across the country

There are 558 people waiting for beds in our hospitals today.

University Hospital Limerick has 35 patients on trolleys, South Tipp General has 22 while there are 4 people without a bed at Nenagh Hospital.

University Hospital Cork is the most overcrowded, with 53 people on trolleys.

The Department of Public Health has also issued a warning to patients at University Hospital Limerick after a confirmed a case of measles.

Patients who were at risk of exposure to the highly contigious infection were in Shannondoc on January 4th and 7th, and the emergency department at UHL on January 7th and 9th.

Anyone who has been exposed and is not immune to measles may develop a rash up to three weeks following date of exposure.
