Over 500 patients without a hospital bed today

Two hospitals serving Tipperary are the most overcrowded in the country with 106 people waiting for a bed today.

University Hospital Limerick which serves the north of the county has 71 without a bed – while there are 35 waiting around the Emergency Department or in overflow areas of wards in South Tipp General in Clonmel.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 501 patients waiting for a bed in hospitals nationwide this afternoon.
