21 patients on trolleys in Tipp ED

It’s a busy start to the week for front-line staff at hospitals serving the Premier County.

Latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation report 345 patients without a bed in hospitals across the country.

24 of these are at University Hospital Limerick which provides cover for North Tipp, Limerick and Clare.

At South Tipp General in Clonmel there are 21 patients being cared for on trolleys and chairs this afternoon.

The Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar is the most overcrowded in the country today where there are 28 people without a bed.
