It follows a break in at a home in Templetuohy at around midday.
Two men are thought to have been involved while a light green English registered Vauxhall Corsa -was spotted leaving the scene.
One of the two suspects is believed to be in his early 40's and was wearing a dark coloured tracksuit with a white stripe. There is no detailed description of the second man.
The registration plates on the Vauxhall Corsa are DY 53 UWJ and anyone who have may have seen it in the Mid Tipp area are asked to contact the gardaí immediately on 0504 31011.
