Further strike action planned by Bord na Mona staff

Bord na Mona workers in Tipperary will join colleagues across the country later this month in further strike action.

Pickets were placed on the Bord na Mona briquette factory near Littleton last week in a long running row over a pay rise.

They are among more than 2,000 staff at the state owned company who have now decided to escalate their action.

Three unions – SIPTU, UNITE and the T-EE-U – met yesterday where it was agreed to hold two more stoppages on June 27th and 28th.
