Funding announced for Tipperary festivals

An allocation of €100,000 from the Arts Council for two Summer Festivals in Tipperary has been welcomed by local Minister of State Tom Hayes.

The Clonmel Junction festival will receive €90,000 while the Terryglass Arts Festival will get €10,000.

Tom Hayes says the funding is part of a package worth over €2.1 million which is being distributed around the country.

He says its a welcome commitment from the Department and the Arts Council as local festivals play such a vital role in the local economy, particularly when it comes to job creation, driving economic activity for local businesses and local tourism.
