Businesses across Clonmel are stepping up efforts to protect jobs in the town as well as potentially creating new employment.
The Clonmel Retail Forum which comprises of members from the Chamber of Commerce, local traders and the Borough Council is set to unveil a series of initiatives over the coming months to encourage people to shop local.
It's also in the process of creating a website to encompass the town's heritage, leisure and shopping opportunities.
Spokesperson Connor Moroney of Moroney Footwear also feels the government has a key role to play in helping local business in Clonmel
