Foul smells resurface in Nenagh.

Efforts are being made to tackle problems with a foul smell in parts of Nenagh.

The Town Council is to survey all the gullies in the town to try and eliminate the sewer problem in the area.

The ongoing smell of sewerage in and around the Pearse Street and Friar Street was raised at the latest meeting of the town council and members were told the town management were looking into the problem.

The council said that it was possible that a build up of waste is responsible for the odour and the local authority is urging businesses to ensure that their grease traps are in working order.

Nenagh town Councillor Hughie McGrath says that the council has applied to upgrade the sewerage system in the town but until then, something needs to be done.
