Fine Gael set to vote for new leader

Voting to choose the next leader of Fine Gael begins today.

Last night the two contenders Leo Varadkar and Simon Coveney faced off in the final Fine Gael leadership debate

The two clashed on issues like the property tax and both attacked each other’s plans for the party.

Voting will begin this evening in a process that will see one of them elected leader on Friday

Leo Varadkar said regardless of the outcome he would help to unite Fine Gael while Simon Coveney suggested they look to the past for inspiration for the future.
