Finance Minister says National Planning Framework will deliver for Tipperary

Paschal Donohoe’s comments come as many local politicians have welcomed elements of the plan but been highly critical of what’s not included.

Some TDs and Councillors had expressed concerns that Tipperary County Council would only be allowed to grant permission for 400 dwellings per year.

However speaking on Tipp Today earlier Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe told Fran Curry that this figure was a target and not a limit.

The failure to include any definite works on the N24 Limerick – Waterford route has also been criticised by many in Tipperary.

The route is seen as key to future development of towns along the route such as Tipp Town, Cahir, Clonmel and Carrick on Suir.

However Minister Donohoe says the Government is committed to working on the N24 which is shown by it’s inclusion for pre-appraisal.
