The Environment Minister says drones and CCTV will be used to catch those guilty of illegal dumping.

It comes as incidents of flytipping across parts of the Premier County have been highlighed again.

Most recently dozens of used tyres were dumped at Ladyswell in Thurles – a popular walking spot for locals and visitors alike

Sinn Fein Councillor Seamie Morris says we need to get more CCTV cameras up and running as soon as possible to catch people illegally dumping rubbish.

He says if we get them on camera they should be named and shamed or have their picture shown.

The Minister for the Environment says dumping can have an affect on tourism and inward investment and is set to double council funding to tackle it

Denis Naughten outlines the steps that will be taken in order to catch those throwing away their rubbish illegally.
