The company behind a major solar farm project near Roscrea have committed to contributing to the local community.
Roscrea Solar Farm Ltd was recently granted permission for a 140 acre development at Derrymore near the village of Knock.
There has been some local opposition to the proposals with suggestions that it may be appealed to An Bord Pleanala.
However the company has confirmed that it will contribute €50,000 to the area.
Local Councillor Michael Smith describes it as a positive step.
