Just 257 homes in Tipp reach “A” energy rating

The CSO has released statistics for Building Energy Ratings across the country, with ratings low to average in Tipperary.

Premier County figures show that just 1% of the 25,693 houses assessed between 2009 and 2018 qualified for an A rating, with 1% apiece for the B1 and B2 ratings as well.

Most of the houses assessed were graded in the middle of the spectrum, with 12% achieving a C2 rating, 13% gaining a C3, while the D2 level had 12%.

The highest percentage in Tipperary lay in the D1 rank with 14%.

The average age of the houses assessed was 39 years.
