Locals in Carrick on Suir whose public water has been switched over to a hard water supply are demanding the decision is reversed as its causing havoc for householders.
The changeover from the Slievenamon supply, which has been made under EPA guidelines, affects areas such as Ballyneale, Faugheen, Kilcash up to Ballydine and parts of Cregg Road.
Council officials says there can be no u-turn on it as drinking water cant be soft – and adding softeners will replace natural minerals with salt.
However SF representative David Dunne says something has to be done
