Emly perform well in European final.

Ireland's representatives at the European Energy Neighbourhoods have finished 6th in the finals in Brussels.

The West Tipperary village of Emly earned the right to represent Ireland by winning the national competition last May to become the country's most energy efficient neighbourhood.

In the final they were up against 15 other countries with the eventual winners coming from Greece.

Emly were commended for their energy efficient ways, which resulted in average savings of €740 per household per annum.
