Days before power is restored across Tipperary

Thousands of homes across Tipperary remain without power today in the wake of Ophelia.

ESB crews have made major inroads in the numbers – however it’s still likely to be a number of days before power is restored to all parts of the county.

The main focus at the moment is on the major faults – isolated areas may still be without electricity for a few days.

Nenagh based ESB Spokesperson Michael Fox outlines the current situation in the Premier County.

One of those hit by the power outages is the Mary Immaculate College St Patrick’s Campus Thurles will remain closed until power is restored.

ESB Networks has advised that power will be restored to Thurles by 8 pm on Sunday 22 October.
