The coastguard rescue 116 helicopter has been called in to assist a canoeist in difficulty on the River Suir near Cahir.
It’s understood the incident is ongoing – between Cahir Castle and the Swiss Cottage.
Gardaí, the ambulance service and the local river rescue team have also been called to assist in the operation.
