Chernobyl children arrive in Ireland

Chernobyl children, who live in ‘a modern day apartheid’, are jetting into Ireland for 2 weeks of Christmas rest and recuperation.

Chernobyl Children International – founded by Tipperary woman Adi Roche – has brought more than 25,000 children, to stay with host families in Ireland over the past 26 years.

The children come from impoverished backgrounds and state-run institutions in Belarus, where they’re segregated from normal society.
