There are renewed calls for a free parking period in Clonmel to boost business in the town centre.
Independent representative Richie Molloy says every effort needs to be made to attract shoppers into the heart of the town.
His comments come in the wake of the news that Dunnes Stores is set to close its O’Connell Street branch within a matter of weeks.
Councillor Molloy has called on the Town Manager to introduce free parking up to 10.30 each morning in a bid to trade in the town centre
