Exciting plans for West Tipp development

Efforts to generate much needed employment in Tipperary Town have received a massive boost.

Plans are being unveiled today for the establishment of an innovation park on an existing 1.5 hectare site on the outskirts of the West Tipp Town just off the N24.

Owners of the site Corajio propose to develop it in three stages and it’s estimated that in the space of five years it could create over 700 jobs, generate €48 million in wages and positively impact on the regional economy to the tune of €79 million.

Tipperary TD Alan Kelly – who has been centrally involved in the discussions along with Invest Tipperary and IDA Ireland – says it’s a fantastic site.

It would be available to either one employer or multiple employers – a planning application is to be lodged to change the sites use to industry and innovation.
