Criticism of attack on Nenagh Olympic complex

An arson attack on one of Tipperary’s best known sports clubs has been described as an attack on the local community.

Damage running into tens of thousands of Euro was caused to the Nenagh Olympic Athletic Club complex over the weekend.

Gardaí are investigating the incident and are understood to have questioned a number of teenagers.

Nearly €500,000 was spent upgrading the centre at Ballygraigue just last year.

Local Councillor Seamie Morris says it’s set back the work of the club for years.
