A man has been arrested in connection with an incident in Clonmel yesterday during which an elderly woman was conned out of money.
Tradesmen called to her house on the outskirts of the town and carried out work before bringing her to the bank to withdraw money to pay them.
Gardaí say the amount paid was considerably more than the job was worth.
A middle aged man was taken into custody in the Clonmel area this morning according to Inspector James White.
