‘Lock up, light up, and put on your alarm,’ is the message to keep your house secure if you’re heading out for New Years.
It comes as Gardaí are warning that the most common entry point for burglars is the front door.
Residential burglaries are especially prevalant over the Winter months between the hours of 5 and 11pm.
