The upgrading of CCTV cameras in Clonmel could be in place by the end of the summer.
Tenders for the works are due back before the end of the month with the upgrade of the current Closed Ci4rcuit Television System in Elm Park and Cooleens close expected to take 4 to 6 weeks.
Also this time the equipment will be housed and controlled by the gardaí and not the local council
