Residents and businesses in the Slieveardagh area have been highly critical of ongoing disruption over this last weekend….the water was gone for hundreds of households until Tuesday evening.
The local authority says that the interruption was due to a ruptured water main that took some time to fix.
However, Denis Holland, Senior Engineer, Operations and Maintenance with Water Services says that supply was restored as quickly as possible.
Denis Holland also says he is unaware of any breaks in the supply that would have led to consumers being without water since last Thursday – however work to improve the network is ongoing.
