Contraception now available to medical card holders from their pharmacist

After years of lobbying – women with medical cards can now access emergency contraception – free of charge – from their pharmacist.

Previously they would have to go to their GP first to get a prescription.

IPU President and community pharmacist Daragh Connolly says it brings equality to the health service.
