Bus Éireann employees in Clonmel say the local depot is one of the worst hit by the company’s cost cutting measures.

Trade union members in Bus Éireann are coming under fire for refusing to call off their strike while they talk to management.

All sides in the industrial dispute are at the Workplace Relations Commission for discussions today.

Drivers on the picket line in County Tipperary say the core issues have to be dealt with before any progress is made in the talks.

They say Clonmel has been badly hit by the company’s cost cutting measures as the depot is set to close with the axing of the Clonmel – Dublin Expressway route while a number of drivers have received letters telling them that their employment with the company will end on Friday.

Pickets have been in place at depots in Tipperary and across the country for almost a fortnight now.

However drivers in Clonmel say their resolve is still strong.
