Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has apologised for comments made during a Dáil debate.
He received strong criticism over his remarks comparing Finna Fáil’s Micheál Martin to a “sinning priest”.
The issue was raised in the Dáil by Tipperary Deputy TD Mattie McGrath.
Clonmel’s Fr Michael Toomey welcomes the apology.
