Today the committee agreed it wanted the probe to speed up its investigation into the resignation of Martin Callinan as Garda Commissioner.
It's currently due to report back on that issue, as well as other issues regarding the Sophie Toscan du Plantier case and the broader issue of Garda Tapes, by the end of this year.
However the committee is asking for the report on Mr Callinan's resignation – and on the letter he sent to the Department of Justice – to be completed within eight weeks.
