There are calls for a CCTV system in Borrisokane as a matter of urgency.

The issue of rural crime and crime prevention was to the fore at this weeks meeting of the Nenagh Municipal District.

Independent Councillor Joe Hannigan raised the issue pointing out that having CCTV in Borrisokane would be a significant deterrent to criminals.

The community CCTV scheme requires 40% of the cost to be funded locally – Councillor Hannigan feels Tipperary County Council should be helping out with this.
