Caution advised on roads as Tipperary takes a battering.

Strong winds and torrential rain have been battering Tipperary since early this morning.

Gardai are reporting spot flooding and excess surface water on any roads across the county – extreme caution is being advised.

Meanwhile strong winds and high tides are expected to cause further flooding problems in coming days across the country..

Local authorities are on high alert and are increasing flood defences.

Met Eireann has a yellow Weather Warning in place for the entire country today, which is being upgraded to Orange Status tomorrow in some parts.

There are fears some areas may experience a repeat of the flooding and damage seen at the start of the year.
