Tipperary County Council has been called on to establish a dedicated rural development department.
Kilcommon based Councillor Mattie Ryan feels this would aid efforts by both local representatives and the council to improve areas outside of urban centres.
For his part Council CEO Joe MacGrath pointed out that Tipperary County Council is already very focused on rural development.
