Those behind a Tipperary project which missed out on funding from the Regional Enterprise Fund say they will reapply for the next tranche.

Proposals were submitted under the Thurles Community Enterprise Project in a bid to bring jobs to the town.

Councillor Seamus Hanafin was one of those behind the plans – he said they quickly learned that they needed to find a suitable site and provide a building to have any chance of making progress.

Speaking on Tipp Today he pointed out that most of the job creation in Tipperary of late has gone to existing buildings citing Eistec in Clonmel and First Data in Nenagh.

He says they will go back in for funding again as a lot of work has gone into getting the project to this stage.
