The closure and relocation of the Tipperary GAA shop at Lár na Páirce in Thurles won’t take place until well into the GAA season.

The county board have agreed a 15 year deal with Elverys Intersport, who are taking over 3 units in Thurles Shopping Centre – one of which will be a dedicated Tiperary GAA store operated by the sports giant.

Lár na Páirce, meanwhile, will continue to be the hub for Tipp’s GAA offices in the county – while it remains to be seen whether the museum will also move to another location in the town.

County board secretary is Tim Floyd.

The relocation and leasing of the Tipperary GAA shop been described as a commercial opportunity.

Tim Floyd says the county board will still get revenue from the sale of Tipperary GAA products without having to run the shop..
