Appeals against plans for new Tipp service station

Plans for a new filling station near Clonmel have hit a stumbling block.

Tipperary County Council had granted permission for the development on the outskirts of the town.

Conditional approval was given for the filling station at Lawlesstown on the Cashel Road in Clonmel in Mid March.

The filling station would also include a shop, restaurant and toilets.

A number of submissions were made to Tipperary County Council during the planning process expressing concerns about the proposals from Glenconnor Developments Ltd.

Appeals have been lodged with An Bord Pleanala against the granting of permission – among them is one from Applegreen plc.

A ruling is due from the state planning appeals board by mid-August.
