Apple expected to appeal after EU ruling

It's after the watchdog found the tech giant must pay Ireland 13 billion euro plus interest in unpaid taxes.

Apple has been found to have breached EU state aid laws by channelling some of its profits through here – EU regulators say that deal effectively left it with a corporate tax rate of less than 1 percent.

The European Union's Representative in Ireland says the tax deal put other companies here at a serious disadvantage.

Both Apple and the Government have denied any wrong doing and are expected to appeal the ruling.
