No end in sight to animal cruelty

The discovery of another dead horse has led to renewed calls for the ongoing problem of animal cruelty in Tipperary to be dealt with.

The latest incident was on council-owned land at Glenconnor Heights in Clonmel where a young horse was found dead today.

There are two other horses and a donkey in the same field – but they’re not in a bad condition.

Today’s grim discovery follows the removal of a number of dead and dying horses from a field in Knocklofty before Christmas.

Speaking to Tipp FM at the scene Councillor Pat English said he hopes the relevant agencies can get to the bottom of who’s mistreating the animals.
