Anger of septic tank inspection figures

It's claimed the testing of septic tanks in rural areas of Tipperary is unfair.

The comments come following the news that over half of the tanks checked nationally failed their first inspection.

Just 423 of the almost 450,000 rural septic tanks registered in Ireland have been inspected – 53% of them were found to be not up to standard.

South Tipp Independent TD Mattie McGrath says the system being operated by the Environment Protection Agency needs to change.
