Almost 2 thousand jobs set to be created in start ups

Over 18-hundred jobs are to be created at new technology companies.

The positions at 122 firms will be created over the next three years and are part of an Enterprise Ireland scheme for start-ups.

This morning's jobs announcement is part of the “High Potential Start-Ups” initiative. It will see 1-thousand 850 new jobs come on stream across the country over the next three years.

Each of the companies are described as export-driven and based on technological innovations.

Enterprise Ireland says it hopes the companies will grow “rapidly” and stimulate local economies and create more jobs in the years ahead.

While the Jobs Minister says it's a part of a determination to boost the employment market with Irish enterprise and not just multinational companies.

More details on the positions are expected to be announced by Minister Richard Bruton at the official launch later this morning.
