AIB branch closures confirmed across Tipperary

A Tipperary T.D has accused Allied Irish Bank of giving the “two-fingers” to people in rural Ireland.

The bank has announced it is to close 5 branches in County Tipperary as part of its cost cutting plans.

They are among 45 sub office closures and six branch amalgamations will take place from October across the country with a further 16 branch closures next year.

The AIB branches in Clogheen, Borrisokane, Killenaule and Newport will close this year while the Templemore branch will close next year.

South Tipperary T.D Mattie McGrath says it’s another blow to rural Tipperary.
