Tipperary farm inspections raised with Dáil committee

North Tipperary farmers have had ‘a very useful meeting’ about the level of cross-compliance inspections with the Oireachtas Agriculture Committee.

The IFA claim the number of farm inspections being carried out and the amount penalties imposed on farmers in the north of the county are substantially higher than in any other county in Ireland.

The delegation received unanimous support from the committee for their idea that the appeals process surrounding inspections must be reviewed.

However, North Tipp IFA Chairman Tim Cullinane says the Department of Agriculture still have questions to answer.
