Refunds on the way for thousands of Tipp farmers

Almost 6,000 farmers in Tipperary are set to receive Basic Payment Refunds.

More than €1 million has been allocated to the Premier’s 5,856 farmers.

This means, on average, each farmer will receive around €184 of a refund – which was deducted from their 2016 BPS payments under the Financial Discipline rule.

However they’re now being reimbursed in line with the EU regulations.

Minister Michael Creed made the announcement this week, which will see 97,000 farmers across the country benefit from around €13.2 million.
