Adverse Weather Leaves Homes Without Power

ESB is reporting two hundred and fifty faults to power lines on the network from Kerry across to Wicklow, including Bandon in Cork and Kilkenny city.

A spokesperson says ESB crews are working to restore power in the areas affected.

Meanwhile, Irish Ferries swift sailings have been cancelled over the next two days because of stormy conditions.

And motorists are advised to take care, with debris and trees down in many parts of the country.

A weather warning is in place today – with strong winds, heavy rain and hail all forecast.
