A number of Community Welfare Service Clinics are set to close in Tipperary.

The decision taken by the Minister for Social Protection to close a large number of Community Welfare Service Clinics across Co. Tipperary has been strongly criticised by Deputy Michael Lowry.

The Independent T.D describes it as the further bleeding of vital resources from rural Ireland.

The weekly clinics listed for closure on February 1st are Templederry, Bansha, Littleton, Toomevara, Drangan, Kilsheelan and Drombane.

Four other Community Welfare Service Clinics in Tipperary are to be downgraded and will open just once a month – these are Moyne, Kilcommon, Portroe and Rearcross.
