4 people injured in Tipperary crashes

Three people including 2 children have been hospitalised after a road collision in South Tipperary.

Meanwhile in North Tipp a driver suffered minor injuries after his car aquaplaned on the M7 near Nenagh

Gardai at Cashel and the emergency services were called to the scene of a two car collision on the L409 road to Rosegreen which is off the New Inn to Cashel at around 6 o clock yesterday evening.

The three occupants of one of the vehicles, a mother and her young son and daughter were rushed to South Tipperary General Hospital. The occupant of the other vehicle was uninjured .

The stretch of road where the crash occurred between Racecourse Cross and Carron Cross was closed for several hours and Gardai are expected to appeal for witnesses

Meanwhile a driver escaped with minor injuries after a single vehicle crash on the M7 between the Birdhill and Nenagh junctions shortly before 5 yesterday evening.

It’s understood the car acquaplaned near the Tullaheady junction and crashed into the central median before spinning around on the road.

A section of the motorway was closed for a time while Gardai dealt with the crash- Road conditions were poor at the time due to heavy rain
