13 man Tipp see off Offaly

A 17th minute Seamus Callanan goal helped put the senior side into a 1-14 to 0-4 lead at half time.

However Tipperary played the majority of the second half with 14 men after Seamus Callanan  was sent off for an off the ball incident and then Cathal Barrett was sent off for a second yellow card – while Kieran Bergin was stretchered off through injury.

Speaking afterwards Tipp Hurling boss Eamon O'Shea wouldn't be drawn on the sendings off but effectively ruled out an appeal to Callan's straight red card, stating everybody has to make decisions in realtime. O'Shea also said that while Kieran Bergan was brought to hospital by ambulance he's been informed the injuries are ankle ligaments which could see him out for up to 6 weeks.
