Tipperary branch of Family Carers Ireland calling for 20 respite days a year for carers

Family Carers Ireland are calling for carers to be given 20 days respite during the year – the same as paid workers.

The issue was raised at their annual National Respite Weekend, held in the Clayton Hotel in Cork.

Richie Molloy of Family Carers Ireland in Tipperary says this is a huge issue with many carers not getting the chance for any rest throughout the year, as homes and private facilities are too expensive:
