Tipperary County Council’s decision to refuse permission for a solar farm near Ardfinnan has been appealed.
An Bord Pleanala will now rule on the application.
r Ltd had lodged plans for a solar farm on the outskirts of Ardfinnan last May.
The 9.4 hectare site is at Maghereagh on the Clogheen side of the village.
A number of submissions were made to Tipperary County Council expressing opposition to the plans – among the concerns raised were the possible devaluation of property, health implications, the glare from the panels and the intrusion from security cameras planned for the site
The local authority’s planning department refused permission for the solar farm last month.
This has now been appealed by the Cork based company – a decision is due from An Bord Pleanala by mid-December.
