Woman dies following crash in Roscrea

She was the driver of a car which collided with a van on the Limerick Road in Roscrea at around 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

Two men, who were passengers in the car and aged in their 70s and 50s respectively, were airlifted to University Hospital Limerick – they'd suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the van was uninjured.

A garda investigation is underway and the crash site is being forensically examined.

Members of the emergency services from counties Tipperary, Laois and Offaly attended the scene.

The Irish Coast Guards R115 and Air Corps R112 helicopters also dealt with the incident.

This is the 6th road fatality in Tipperary so far this year – there were four during all of 2015.
