Tipperary County Council under fire

The claim was levelled at the authority by Mid Tipp Councillor Jim Ryan who is calling for €30,000 a year from their budget to be set aside for it.

The council says that no new funds can be allocated until all the Premier County's streetlamps have been upgraded to energy efficient LEDs.

Director of Services Marcus O'Connor pointed out that the local authority has signed up to an agreement to upgrade all the existing streetlamps in the Premier County and until this has been done no other funding can be allocated.

Councillor Ryan says he's infuriated by their stance on the issue.
